Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Physics
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Department of Physics at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment to begin in August 2022. We seek someone with a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching at all levels and excellence in scholarly achievement. The preferred candidate is an experimentalist within the fields of bio or medical physics, or a closely-related field, but all qualified candidates will be considered. The physics department consists of seven tenured and tenure track faculty, a laboratory supervisor, a machinist and approximately 50 majors. Applicants who can actively involve undergraduate students in their research, and those who have an interest and willingness to create interdisciplinary connections with other science departments are particularly encouraged to apply. A Ph.D. in physics is required, and start-up funds will be provided.
The position carries a 3-2 teaching load with a full-salary one-semester research leave prior to tenure review, and generous sabbatical and fellowship leaves for tenured faculty. Tenure track faculty are eligible for conference travel support and reimbursement of relocation costs within the College’s published policies. Candidates must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching at the introductory and advanced levels as well as scholarly achievement. Ph.D. required.
