Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of California, Riverside (https://www.physics.ucr.edu/) invites highly qualified experimental physicists to apply for an Academic-year tenure -track faculty position in the field of Experimental Condensed Matter Physics. Candidates should possess a record of demonstrated excellence in research in forefront areas of quantum materials and devices, including but not limited to, synthesis and fabrication of novel quantum materials and nanoscale devices, study of novel quantum properties, and systems for quantum sensing and information applications. This appointment is expected to complement our existing strength in the areas of spintronics, 2D materials, topological materials, nanoelectronics, nanophotonics and related fields The successful candidate will actively collaborate with the condensed matter theory faculty in our department and materials science faculty on campus. UCR has excellent infrastructures to support cutting-edge materials science research such as two class-100/1000 cleanrooms for nanofabrication and various state-of-the-art microanalysis tools, an electron microscopy center, and other shared characterization facilities. The successful candidate is expected to establish an outstanding and well-funded research program involving graduate students and postdoctoral scientists, and to contribute to departmental teaching at all levels.
