The Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Delaware seeks applications for a Continuing Track faculty position at the rank of Assistant professor starting August 16, 2022. The ideal candidate will have expertise in teaching introductory physics classes to STEM majors, including those associated with health sciences and/or engineering. Minimum qualifications for the position are a completed Ph.D. in Physics or a related field, prior to appointment, a strong commitment to teaching, and to serving a diverse population. Experience with curriculum development, curriculum assessment, and evidence-based application of learning theory, as well as an interest in utilizing classroom technologies are strongly desirable. Responsibilities associated with this position will include teaching introductory level lecture courses, development of curriculum, evaluation and development of new pedagogical methods in Physics and Astronomy Education, coordination of lectures with associated laboratory sections, and administrative tasks.
